- Great Barford Diamond Jubilee Celebrations - June 2012
Monday 4th June 2012
Great Barford celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style. As part of the celebrations the Alma Singers put on a short concert in the Village Hall. Our Musical Director was Graham Weeks and our accompanist was Tessa Wood. We did two 15 minute sessions with an interval between. Joe Lound-Keast videoed it for us and made a DVD so that members of the choir could see and hear themselves. Outside the weather was kind to us. There were lots of stalls to visit, a hog roast and a guess the number of balloons in the tractor competition. Great fun was had by all. To see pictures of events outside visit: http://www.greatbarford.org.uk/village-gallery/village-fete-2012-06-04-jubilee-celebration// Above: The Soprano section of the choir.
Above: Musical Director Graham Weeks has fun with the audience as he encourages one side of the hall to sing It's A Long way to Tipperary. The other side had to sing Pack up your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag. He then combined them in a duet. Great fun!
