Saturday 14th December 2013:
The Alma Singers Christmas Concert, in aid of Cystic Fibrosis, took place at the Parish Church of All Saints, Great Barford at 7.30 pm. The concert played to a packed church. It featured a variety of songs by the Alma Singers; communal singing of popular carols by the audience and four songs by soloist Peggy Hanscombe. Peggy Hanscombe sang The Sun Who's Rays from The Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan, Chanson d'Amour, The Little Road to Bethlehem and Hark The Herald Angels Sing. The Alma Singers finished with a very amusing version of The Twelve Days of Christmas which relates what became of all the gifts sent by 'My True Love'. The Alma Singers would like to thank All Saints Church for hosting this concert. After expenses the funds raised were divided equally between the Church and The Alma Singers. The choir will be making a donation to this year's chosen charity, Cystic Fibrosis. |
