Great Barford held a Fun Day in May 2013. There were stalls on the edge of the driveway to the Village Hall. Amongst them were: a book stall; old vehicles and motorbikes; and a stall selling original paintings and prints. There was also a pig roast that was giving out the last meat as we went out after we had finished singing.

Further up the field the army had an assault course for the children who were enjoying themselves crawling under netting and tackling other obstacles, etc. At the far end there was a ‘Guess how many balloons in the tractor' competition and a ‘Welly Wanging’ competition. ‘Welly Wanging’ is not as easy as you would think. The wellie goes wherever it wants to no matter where you aim it. No one called us about the 'How Many Balloons in the Tractor' competition so I suppose we guessed wrong. All good fun.

The Alma Singers were asked to entertain fun lovers in the Village Hall as they ate their afternoon teas. The bar was open so that all tastes were catered for.

We sang a variety of music including the lively Rhythm of Life, the Scarborough Fair Canticle and a selection from the ever popular musical Les Miserables.

Our Musical Director was David Ewbank and Tessa Wood accompanied us on her indispensable portable keyboard.
